When it comes to playing airplane simulation games, a lot of people wish there were more realistic hand held controllers that would actually replicate your hand held devices within the games that you play. I play a lot of flight simulation games and have been looking for gear that gives you a more accurate feel of the action that’s going on onscreen. Perfect Design
When I first read about the Hotas Warthog, I was quickly impressed with its design and build. It looked very sturdy and so much like the real thing. At first I was a bit hesitant to purchase it since the price was generally more than I would like to spend on my gaming hobby, but I figured I could easily sell it to one of my acquaintances because they absolutely love this model. I went online and bout the Warthog Joystick for a little less than $400. It arrived only 2 days later. Once I received the package, I opened it up right away to check out the contents inside. It was quite heavy, weighing in at about 15 pounds. I could already tell it wasn’t going to be like no other controller I’ve ever had.
It’s Absolutely Realistic
The joystick alone was pretty heavy and well made. It was solid metal, long and narrow and provides a well fitting grip for the hand. The dual control system is just as imposing as its joystick associate. These controllers have a total of two direction hatch switches with built in push buttons and fifty five fully programmable action buttons. The H.E.A.R.T. HallEffect Techonology magnetic sensor system incorporated into the joystick allows for extreme position. It’s spot on commands and actions translate accurately onscreen. This hardware is so heavy that it pretty much requires the same amount of pressure you’d put on a real airplane controller. For more control, you’re able to detach either the base or the joystick’s handle itself from the rest of the controller.
Not Only Great Harware, But Also Great Software
In addition to great hardware, you also get a great software that accompanies the Hotas Warthog. T.A.R.G.E.T. software lets you play your flight sim games with the highest level of performance. There are three different programming levels within the software that allows you to customizer the controller’s settings as you see fit. Choose from basic, to advance, and script. Script allows you to employ the full potential of the T.A.R.G.E.T. software. Now you can feel like a pro when using the joystick.

Other amazing features would be an upgradeable firmware with USB connection; 3D magnetic joystick sensors, and a very stable weight base. Of all the controllers I’ve ever tried, the Hotas Warthog would absolutely have to be one of the best flight simulations gaming gear I’ve ever experienced.
